MONTH IN GAOL
AND TERM OF REFORMATIVE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. George " Clifford Buttenvorth (32) was. to-day, sentenced to a month in gaol and sis months' reformative for obtaining goods by fraud, failure to account, and theft. It was stated that the accused was a Cambridge 8.A., and formerly employed at Cliristclnuch as an analytical chemist. The Magistrate said that the probation Teport was bad. The accused had been borrowing far and near. Ho might have granted probation had the accused not perjured himself in his defence.
