yOLUNTEER AGE LIMIT
(To the Editor.) Sir,—May I as an old "Digger" express my disappointment and surprise at the age limit of 25 years for volunteers in the new Defence Force. It is stated' that there will probably be some difficulty experienced in getting the force up to strength for the first four years. Why not extend the age limit to include any man of good physique, who is physically fit to undergo training? ■ / ....,■•■ ; Speaking-for myself, I am well over 25, served in the'old volunteers (Zealandia Rifles), and nearly three years in the Great War, and although twice wounded, once very severely, I am still able to drill, yes, and fight with the best of them. I am not a "Jingo Patriot," but one who realises that thisj' country; is worth fighting for should the occasion arise, and one who is willing to keep in training. Remember the old song, Sir, "Old Soldiers Never. Die."—l am, etc., 4th BATT. DINK.-
