♦ ; AN IRRESPONSIBLE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A youth who a week ago wsas charged with having a revolver inj his possession appeared on remand lit the Police Court. It was stated that he had ,a'"flying, bug," and, although ho haii had no flying, experience, proposed i going to Sydney, buying Oscar Garden's aeroplane/and flying to England. ' Chief-Detective Hammond said that tho youth was twenty-one, ! and was recently left a- considerables sum by his mother. ' The Probation Officer said jthat something would have.to be dotne as the youth was going through tihe money like water. i "Tho spoiler ho goes brokit! the better," remarked a brotlier-ir>-law, who was' in Court. ,' Tho Magistrate (Mr. P; jK. Hunt): "What! You want mo to let him go to Sydney among those spielers over there?" : ' The brother-in-law: "It weiuld bo the best thing that could happen." Tho Magistrate: "What iabbut getting this money tied up?" Mr. Hammond: "The soorier the better. He contracted a £17£j debt with a jeweller the other day."- >. : Eventually the youth agreed to sign a declaration of trust, giving others the power to handle his mo:y.ey until he is 25 years of age.
