It is a time when, courage and cheerfulness ■arc "wanted. . It is a time to think of duty and sacrifice. Your present hardships are.-, small compared, t0..-what tho early settlers bore and- overcame.' Eemember the. beautiful country they .have made ' for you. Cherish' the r . traditions of 'duty and service -which ''they have given. Show by your conduct-that you honour and respect .their, memory. Amidst these trials, and .troubles,, remember that the Navy-is-, with.you to guard and protect you. Should danger threaten they • will "bb ther'b to defend you as they did in the old.days.
