BREWERY PROFITS DECLINE.
Considering the reduced spending power of the public, Swan Brewery' Co., Ltd., Perth, of West Australia, did well to disclose net profits of £64,793 in respect to operations for the half-year ended 31st March last. The profits were £9441 in excess of those of the previous six months, but contrasted with £73,520 in the corresponding' term of 1929-30. Profits for the 12 months to 31st March were £120,----145, as against,. £129.392 in the previous yoar, and represented 11.20 per cent, on capital employed, and 35.27 per cent, on paid-up capital. The usual 2s dividend was declared, beinjr at the rate of 16 per cent, per anht'im. Shares in Swan Brewery are held in New Zealand and regularly quoted by the Christchurch Slock Exchange.
