ESPERANTO CLUB.
The weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club took place last Tuesday night in the V.M.C.A., Mr. E. C. Jack presiding. Alluding: to the . Esperanto grammar,' he pointed .out that noted philologists, who had learnt the language, were loud in their praise or the simplicity of the Esperanto verb. There was one conjugation only, which applied to every verb in tho language. "No exceptions existed.1 It was- this regularity governing the Esperanto' grammar, which was responsible lor the. great .spread of the language all over the world. Instruction classes were formed under the guidance of experienced members. ' Later in the evening_ a lecture was delivered by Mr. Joseph Major on "La Stenografio rilate al Esperanto," in which the speaker outlined in Esperanto the history of. shorthand writing, illustrating tho. various points on the blackboard. Mr. Lj E. Dust spoke in Esperanto on "La Maglietismp," with blackboard diagrams. The concluding item was an original Esperanto comedy entitled. .'"La . Nova Stenografistino Venas Al La Firmo," the roles being presented by Messrs. Joseph Major and Bertram Potts, the club secretary.
