Mr. Herbert Chapman, ex-district traffic'manager of railways, is in tho Lewisham Hospital suffering from a severe wound in the abdomen as tho result of an accident while unloading a pistol at his home at Caslvmere. Though the injuiry is a painful one, he is recovering slowly. .......
Cli'rious circumstances surround the mishap. Recently the police rang up Mr. Chapman and fixed an appointment to inspect his'pistol, and the licence for it. '. It was while Mr. Chapman was preparing the weapon, which is a curio, that the mishap occurred.
