ATTEMPTED RENEWAL
SYDNEY, 18th May.
An attempt to resuscitate the' Government Savings Bank o£ New South Wales, .which suspended payment1 last •month, is now being made by a group of citizens, who describe its failure as a calamity totally unjustified. Tho spokesman of the group, Mr. A. H. Burnett, illustrating the hardship caused by the suspension of payment, said that apart frqm.the largo sums belonging to traders, people .on the breadline, those1 unemployed, friendly societies, and numerous public institutions, thero was £200,000 locked up, representing the savings of • 138,678 school children. ■ •
