Detectives pursuing inquiries into tho big. robbery of "jewels ,hi: Solomon Cohen's shop have now recovered £7900 worth of bank notes representing tho greater.portion of tho £10,000 .bank note robbery from the Canberra mail.train on Ist May. A: clue Was afforded by. a small key discovered on one of the arrested men, the possession of ..which could not bo satisfactorily explained. The key was found to fit.a safe deposit box in the Commonwealth' Bank in which the notes were discovered.

The value of the notes in the Commonwealth Bank safe deposit amounted to, only £1000. The remainder of the money was found Buried in a Penrith farmyard. One man has been charged with stealing and two others with receiving.

Tho detectives wore amazed to discover that one of the suspects owned an ■■ aeroplane housed at Mascot Aerodrome. The police believe that they would have boen frustrated had it been flown to another State with the money and jewels immediately after the robberies.
