It was reported at the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Native Bird Protection Society'yesterday that .the health of- Dr. L. Cockayne, C.M.G., FES., who recently; underwent an operation for the benefit of his eyesight, is progressing excellently • and that tho continuation of his national work for New Zealand botany will bo in no way impeded. Dr. Cockayne 13 an honorary life member of the society, and was formerly president thereof.
