TOURNAMENT CONTINUED
The annual tournament between students of the Canterbury and Wellington Training Colleges was continued yesterday afternoon, when a sports meeting was held at Kelburn Park, and a basketball match in the Winter Show building.
.' After a,very fast and interesting match, .Canterbury defeated "Wellington in the I basketball match by 11 goals to 10. Wellington were leading by 6 goals to 5 at half-time, but Canterbury rallied later, and threw the winning goal in the last minute of the match. The sports meeting at Kclburn Park was conducted in tbe rain and on a very heavy ground. There were some good individual performances. Canterbury were successful in the distance races, but Wellington more than equalised in the sprints and field events. The following are the results, Canterbury being designated by C. and Wellington by W,:— , 880 yds Championship.—Robinson (C), 1; Wilson (C), 2. 100 yds Championship.—Street (W.), 1; Tindlay (C), 2. Long Jump—Hislop (W.), 1; Ducker (W.), 2. 120 yds Hurdles—Hislop (AY.), 1. A Christclnircli athlete was second. Mile Championship.—Robinson (C), 1; ■Holmes (C), 2. • 220 yds Championship.—Street (W.), 1; Ducker (W.), 2. . «oyds Flat Race—Brown (C), 1; Wilson (C), 1. High Jump.—Thurston and Ducker, both, of Wellington, first, equal.
The relay race was wou by tlic Wellington1 tram.
' Wellington gained 16 points and-Can-terbury 11.
The tournament will be concluded this afternoon with a football match, at K.el-' fcurn Park. . •
