With one exception, -Petone voters returned their sitting representatives— all of whom were on the Petone Civic League ticket—to the Petone Borough Council, and the Petone seats on the Gas Lighting Board and the Electric Power Board. The one successful' Labour candidate . was Mr. A. Seholefield, who was placed seventh out of.tho nine elected to tho council, and whose success meant the failuro of ono Civic Leaguo nominee, Mr. W. P. AVatkinson, who was not a member of the council. The new council is, therefore, exactly tho same as the old one except that Mr..Seholefield replaces Mi-: 11. 0.
