MILD RUN CONTINUES
(Received 4th May, 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY,-This Day. Despite- Sir Robert' Gibson's assurances the mild run on tlio Savings Bank Department of the Commonwealth Bank continues this morning. Apparently a largo percentage of tlio despositors are merely timid ones, whoso confidence in banking institutions has been shaken by recent happenings. The State Bank head office-was bo-
sieged this morning when ft1; opened for the payment of the small allowances arranged for in necessitous enses. As the morning progressed and demands at both savings tanks were dealt with exnoditiously, astxicty was abated, and by forenoon the' conditions were approaching normal.
