INDOOR TRACK MEETING

While in New York, Mr. H. Austad, | chairman of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, who recently returned to Wellington after an absence of nine months abroad, saw a fine mile contest at an indoor track meeting in New York. It was at the Knights of Columbus track games. Leo Lermond, who was iv New Zealand the season before last, was just beaten for first place by Gene Venzke, of the Swedish-American Athletic Club, in tain U 2-ssec.
