FOR THE SUBURBS
Mr. C. 1\ Lethaby, a League candidate for the council, said, that he considered that the lighting in the suburban streets was a disgrace, and considering the huge profits the Electricity Department was making, better lighting facilities should be provided, and that a steep concession in charges should be i made to those of the consumers using the current in their homes and business establishments, and thus help in reducing the cost of living. He stood by the present price- of the universal concession ticket, and.contended that buses should act asi-Jf feeder services to the trams, and. not parallel them. Improved transport facilities should be granted to Mornington and Vogeltown, as well as to' other fastgrowing and populous districts.
