UPROAR AT. MEETING

Theodore addressed • noisjj meeting at the Adelaide Town Hall last night, explaining the Groveramont'* financial policy and defending the fiduciary issue. A large section of his| audience was obviously hostile, including a number of 'Varsity students, wh»; wore involved in a series of fightg with! Theodore supporters. On several oeca-i sions the uproar was serious, and Mr. Theodore was unable to continno for many minutes. Large numbers , ofs people in the body of. the hall left hurriedly, fearing a riot.1 * During a bitter attack on the banks, Mr. Theodore said that the Government was not going to yield to the die-* tation of financial institutions, crime! what may, nor would it allow the Commonwealth Bank to act indefinitely, since it was the prerogative of the Crown to decide the particular form ofi currency requisite for tho • nation's safety.
