v- Ttei-Petoiie- Borough.Council met last ''night.-.. -The Mayor (Mr; D. M'Kenzie) ,■ presided, and there were also present ■ Councillors V. A. Noble, J. W. Longman, '■V. E. Jacobson, H. A. Ryder, X T. ■Hogg; J. C. Burns, C. P. .Brockelbank, and R. W. Toomath. It was decided to ask the Railway Department-to give -further serious consideration to the question of reducing the bus fares, especially on the WellingtonPetone section. The Town Clerk reported that the unemployment loan d£ £3500 (for the provision of the Korokoro water supply) had baen sanctioned by the Loans Board.. The Hutt Valley Primary Schools' Sports Association • was - granted the use of the Recreation Ground on Friday afternoons. It •"'was" decided to write to the Lower Hutt-Borough, Eastbourne Borough, and Hutt County Councils suggesting that: they should join with Petone in conferring with City Council representatives regard? ing the approaches to and the lighting of the Pipe Bridge.
