UNEMPLOYED WOMEN

AN APPEAL

(To the Editor.) Sir,—May I, through your columns, make an earnest appeal to the women of Wellington and surrounding districts to help in providing homes and employment for those women who so sorely need both? The Society for the Protection of Women and Children, 150, Willis street; is opening a register for women out of work, next Tuesday, 2Slh April. The office, 15G, Willis street, will be open Monday to Friday inclusive, from 10 to 12 a.m. and from 2 to i p.m. This register is a sincere attempt to unite all who love in the service of all who suffer. Some worklcEs one* have sought our aid, and. we invite others to do so. We also invite all women who can give a home and a small wage to those who are homeless to ring up our society (Telephone 28-200). Those who cannot offer a home may be able to give work by the day or the hour. The need is urgent, and we confidently appeal for help in the name of our Divine Master, Who says: "Inasmuch- as ye do it unto the least of these, ye do it unto Me." —I am, etc., ■ NELLIE PERYMAN, President Protection Siciety.
