MUNICIPAL MILK
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Some remarks of mine at a recent meeting have raised the ire of several good citizens, amongst them Councillors Bennett (and M'Keen. I repeated my remarks on Thursday night, and invited the above-named gentlemen s to . investigate matters,, and-if I spoke the truth they should, in fairness, withdraw their remarks. . \. ■ {■"■■ ■' .-, The 'last council justly take ' pride iii the municipal milk factory, and advertise among its many virtues the f.ct that an abundance of light is admitted to ■ the building; are they averse to the citizens receiving more light on the subject of milk supplies ?' I have never at any time criticised the milk depot, its management or organisation, and am pleased to learn, it is the best equipped'and organised mills plant in-the world. No one would criticise a splendid ambulance statiojied at'tha bottom of-a'precipice.'but is it not sound commoti-sense to build 'a,' fence at the top?—l-am, etc., : / ■'■•■ . ■: ■■■■;;.'■■ 5..-HOLM.
