MR. SEMPLE'S POSITION

Acting under medical advice,: Mr. B. Seinple, M.P., accompanied by Mrs. Semple, left for the Botorua district this morning for a brief holiday. Speaking to a representative of "Tho Post before his departure, Mr. Semple said he and Mrs. Semple regretted very greatly the necessity for their leaving Wellington at the present time, especially owing to the municipal election campaign. "My wife and I. both regret," said Mr. Semple, "that we will have, no opportunity of addressing the electors, but I am sure the people of Wellington, whom I have served to the best of my ability for a long period of years, will understand that that is on account of no desire of our own. During the four years I have been on the council I have endeavoured to watch the interests of citizens, and if I am re-elected I will continue to do so. That will also be the endeavour of my wife, who is a candidate for re-election to the Hospital Board., May I also thank the electors of Wellington pa, behalf of ms; wife

and myself for the confidence they have reposed in us in the past, and express the hope that they will continue to placo that confidence in us in. the future." '
