SCARE FOR STAFF
EXPLOSION OF PEROXIDE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Members of the staff of B. W. Gallaugher, Ltd., Victoria street, were lucky to escape injury from flying glass yesterday after sixty bottles of peroxide of hydrozen had exploded. Nobody was facing the slicJf where the bottles were stored, but glass was scattered all over I lie office.
A prominent chemist said that, a. bright light would cause ozone gas to decompose,- and it would set up such pressure that cither the stopper would. bo blown off the bottle or Ihr. botllo would burst.
