BARRED TO LANG
MELBOURNE TOWN HALL'
REPUDIATION CAMPAIGN
. MELBOURNE, Bth April. . The City Council decided to refuse the use of the Town Hall for Mr. J. T. Lang's propaganda campaign owing to Mr. Lang's repudiation of the State's financial obligations abroad.
LORD MAYOR'S REASONS (Received 9th April, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The motion not to allow Mr. Lang to have the use of the Town Hall was carried by 26 votes to 4. The Lord Mayor, Mr. Luston, said: "I must say that the City of Melbourne stands, high in Australia for its integrity in its financial and business dealings. I personally would be bitterly disappointed if we allowed a dishonest and discredited man to preach dishonesty and repudiation in this hall. The decision of the committee shows every part of Australia and the world that Victoria does not stana foi1 Lang."
