INSTALLATION OF D.D.G.M
The annual meeting of Wellington- District Lodge, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held on Monday, the District Deputy Grand Master (Bro. J. 'Nind, 1'.G.,'P.C.1?.), presiding over a representative attendance. Monthly accounts and correspondence were disposed of. An invitation to a social evening from Rose of 'Wellington Rebekah Lodgo was accepted, and Maraenui Lodge was aej corded the opportunity ot" playing Esther Rebekah Lodge for the District Cribbnge Shield. Reports received covered the F.S. Jubilee Commemoration Fund for the assisting of orphans and children of Friendly Society members in the AVellington Provincial District, District "500" Shield Competition, District Hospital Fund. District Membership, and learn Ritual Competitions. Bro. J. 11. West, P.D.M., P.C.P., won the senior competition and Bro. H. M. Brady the junior: The D.D.G.M. then conducted the installation of the District Deputy Grand Master designate for the ensuing biennial term (Bro. G. F.Rudkin, P.G., P.C.P.), assisted by Bros. A. T. West, P.G., acting D D.G. Marshal, and H. Dames, P.D.D.G.M., P.C.P. The. election o£ District Lodge elective officers for the ensuing twelve months resulted as follows:—Bro. P. Lee, P.G., Degree Master; Bro. R. Mathers, P.G-., Deputy Degree Master; Bro. F. J. Jones, P.D.D.G.M., C.P., District Secretary; Bro. H. J. Eowney, P.G"., District Recording Secretary; and Bro. H. A. Hardham, P.G., P.G.L. Rep., District Treasurer. The D.D.G.M. appointed the following officers:—Bro. J. E. Maley, P.G., D.D.G. Marshal; Bro. C. H. Havill, P.G., Warden; Bro. A. E. Phillips, P.G., Conductor; Bro. W. J. Jarvis, P.G-.. Chaplain; Bro. L. Callaghan, P.G., G. Gd.; Bro. J. D. Scott, P.G., G.H.; Bro. J. H. West, P.G., and Bro. E. D. Wallis, P.G., supporters of the principal chair; and Bros. A. Evans, P.G.,.andT>. Small, P.G., supporters to the vice-chair. The installation of officers'was conducted with the assistance of Bros. A. 'I. West, P.G., H. Dailies, P.D.D.G.M., A. Bargh, P.G., and G. 11. Bugg, P.G. ■ Bro. J. Nind, P.D.D.G.M., was elected to fill the biennial rotation vacancy on the local Board of Investment. Bros. A. C. Andrew, P.G., L. Wells, P.D.M., and E. D. Turner, P.G., were reelected District Lodge auditors. Bros. P, Lee, P.G., E. D. Wallis, P.G., W. J. Jarvis, P.G., and F. Manger, N.G., were elected (with the D.D.G.M., D.S., and D.T., ex officio) as the District Hospital. Fund Committee for the ensuing ■year. t Bros. F. T. Jones, P.D.D.G.M., G. F. Rudkin, D.D.G.M., P. Lee, P.G,. A. Evans, P.G., F. Mauger, N.G., R. S. Meech, and Sister A. Perry, P.N.G., were elected adult management committee of the Juvenile Lodge. Hearty appreciation was recorded of the services rendered by the 1.P., D.D.G.M. (Bro. J. Nind, P.C.P.), and Bro. A. Smith, P.G;, as recording secretary during the preceding biennial term. The D.D.G.M. announced the dates for the installation of the Lodge D.D.G.M. designate, and for installations of. subordinate lodge officers, also arrangements for official visits in this connection. He also intimated that at the conclusion _of the installations, in pursuance of action by Grand Lodge at the recent biennial session, steps would be taken for selection of a D.D.G.M. for the Hutt Valley area, and on the appointment being approved by the Grand Master, arrangements •would be made for installation and institution of the Hutt Valley administrative, district. The D.D.G.M. appointed Bros. H. A. Hardham, P.G., P.G.L. Rep., and R-. C. Andrew, P.G., to act with him in considering claims from members under the Unemployed Members' Dues Fund, created by the Grand" Lodge at the recent sesThe meeting was concluded with the D.D.G.M. conferring the Past Grand's Degree on Bros. H. A. Hardham, H. Jones, C P Gundy, D. Small, R. Mathers, J. D. Scott, A. Blair. D. Callaghan, A. . T. West, A. Bargh, H. J. Eowney, A. Phillips, and P. Lee.
