In reply to the above, Mr. Luckie re-states that he knew of no such conference (there had been none in past campaigns), and was never asked for and had never'given any promise or undertaking. Mr. Miller still does not deny that the resolution of his association made in November "to support Councillor Wright, failing whom Councillor Hislop" still stood, when the "conference" met; and it is clear that the above quoted resolution of the 23rd January did not affect the position or already expressed preference of the Ratepayers' Association delegates. Perhaps Mr. Miller will supply the details of the former resolution, and whether it was subsequently varied or not.
