MAN IN BOWLING CLUB

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Warned by a burglar alarm connected with his house, the caretaker of the Remuera Bowling Club's pavilion (where there had been previous thefts) called the police at 1.50 o'clock this morning. Two officers arrived in- cars in twelve minutes and discovered a man crouching behind a "counter with a chisel, two detonators, and a plug of gelignite in his possession. As a result James Burke, aged 36, a labourer, appeared in the Police Court charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, being "found on enclosed premises, and also with having housebreaking implements in his possession. He was remanded till 13th April.
