GLEN KIDSTON'S RECORD
WELL UNDER A WEEK (British Official Wireless.) (Received 7lli April, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, 6th April. Commander Glen Kidston, who loft England on Tuesday last on a flight lo South Africa, accompanied by Lieutenant Cathcart Jones, a second pilot, and L. Johnson, wireless operator, reached Caps Town this afternoon. He has beaten the previous record of eight and a half days, but just failed in his aim of completing the flight in six days owing to a slight mishap when forced down by oil trouble yesterday at Lichtcnberg, Western Transvaal. An enthusiastic welcome was accorded to Commander Kidston and his companions upon'their arrival. The flight took six days ten hours.
