TO WIDEN JACKSON ST
£35,000 LOAN SANCTIONED
Sanction has been given by the Local Government Loans Board to the proposal of the Pctone Borough Council to raise a loan of £.35,000 to extend the widening of Jackson street, and the ratepayers will be asked to give their approval to it at the elections noxt month. Permission was also given by the Loans Board for the raising of a loan of £5000 for the re-forming and surfacing of the thoroughfare after the widening operations have been completed, but tho sanction was received too late for the scheme to be sent to the poll in May, and it will bo held over. No serious inconvenience will result from this, as the widening will occupy aome years.
