(Received Ist April, 10 a.m.) MELBOTJBNE, This Day. "Prom the evidence before me I have reluctantly concluded that there is no longer reason to believe that tho pilot and passengers of the missing Southern Cloud are alive," stated tha Minister pjf Defence, Mr. Chiefley. "Early action will 4 be taken by th» Air Accidents Investigation Commit* tee to investigate the circumstances in which the catastrophe occurred. The Committee will hold its meeting in public in-view of the fact that the general public throughout Australia have bee* deeply moved by this distressing occurrence."
