MOVEMENTS OF HORSES

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") PALMEKSTON N., This Day. Although rain has fallen since the Mana•rvatu Meeting, the tracks were still on the hard side at Awapuni yesterday morning. Those engaging in fast work on the course proper were required to gallop wide (Hit . Skyrider and Otairi will go north for the steeplechase and hurdles events at Ellerslic. They ran the first furlong 'in ]3sec. two in 25 i-Ssec, and the half mile in fll l-ssec. Chrypology must be given a chance in the Great Easter. Chief Cook (Reed) slipped over three furlongs on the course proper in 38 l-ssec. Chief Clerk and Chief Line, with stable lads in the saddle, jinnped away at the six-furlongs post to run the last five furlongs in Imin lOsee, and the last three in 40sce. Chief Clcuk will race at Waipnkurau. Llandmlno (Reed) -and Kcddar (L. Gray) required Imfn 21 1-osec to cover six furlongs on the plough, after running the first three furlongl.? in 3S 2-sscc, and the half mile in 53 1-Gsoe. ' .... A USEFUL EFFORT. Moutoa Treasui.'y (S. Anderson) record-' ed ;i useful effort when she ran seven furlongs on the course proper in Jmin 47 3-ssec, after taking 13 <l-ssec for the initial furlong, 3S' 4-ssec for three furlongs, and Imhi feee for five furlongs. She will take her plaee> in the Manchester Handicap at I'eildinjj. Lordlikc (Aiiderson), who is an indifferent, track Avorker, required lniin ttOsec to negotiate seven furlongs, the first two being run in, 28 2-ssec, and the halt. mile, in 5S 2-ssee, He was galloped on at the Manawatu Meeting, but is now striding out quite fneely. Warzone 'drew away from Spearopa at the end of.' seven furlongs on the plough, run in lmihi 3Csec. Warzone has been put to this jumping game, and she has shown exceptional aptitude in the role. Blacksmith (Shearman), unaccompanied, ran six ftorlongs on the plough in Imin 20sec. Has apprentice rider will have the mount on the opening day at Feilding. Swiftray (Green), Valorous Knight (Vincent), aaid Park Acre (Anderson) finished in that order after running five furlongs in lm;m ,6 3-ssec. Swiftray and Park Acre will be at Feilding, but Valorous Knigh.fc will go to Tauhcrenik.au. Thrasher (Reed) ran three furlongs on the course proper in 40 2-ssec, while Valueless (Green) ran five furlongs in Imin 9 2-ssec, the last three being left behind in 41see. This pair will likewise be .at Feilding and Tauherenikau respectively. ?/j, Wilson, who remained at Awapuni af.ter the Manawatu Meeting, with Simba, My Own, and Jenny Diver, went north t<o Auckland on Monday night. The trio are in excellent order, and some stake.tnoney should come their way on the trip. Kozan is still in residence hero, and yesterday was restricted to easy exercise on the plough. Pahu, Glen Rossie, Wallaruh, and Red Fuchsia, all of whom will race at Feilding, were exercised on the plough without being asked to speed up. Red Fuchsia is still a bit big, but the other trio are well. Mister Gamp declined both his Auckland and Feilding engagements, and he will not bo secu in action at Easter. . RIDING ENGAGEMENTS. Broughton: Leisure, Chopin, Nightmare, Aston, Grand Jury (Feilding). R. Reed: Pahu, Glen Rossie, The Warden, Thrasher (Feilding), Nightmareh, • Esteem, Air Laddie, Knockany (Riccarton). . T. Green: Tobaeeoland, Saltpot. White Fang, Eeremoana, Hampdcn, Martian Chief, Ephialtes (Wairarapa), Chrysology, Limerick (Autumn), -Gay Court, Chief Cook, and members of G. D; Greenwood's team (Riccarton). T. Metcalf received sufficient inducement to merit his undertaking the long trip down to the Riverton fixture,.and he left for the south on Monday."
