By continuing to pay interest to the A.M.I*. Society in''Sydney on loans raised tlwFeilding. Borough Council will save a considerable sum. The council has decided to pay in Sydney immediately a payment of £759 due. By paying thiß in Sydney it will save £92. Next financial year the council will pay £2300 in interest and on this will probably save £400 owing to the favourable exchange. The Mayor stated that the reason why the society wished 'the interest payments made in New Zealand was that the taxation of -the Federal and State Governments in Australia was so heavy that it was decided to keep, the money and the profits made in New Zealand.., ,
