PREPARATIONS FOR EGMONT

(By Telegraah.) (Special to "The Evening Post") HAWERA, This Day. Track work this morning was carried out in first-rate conditions. The plough was used. Chief Link and Silver Bule both worked well, but were not asked to make time. The Cup candidate; Silvermine, went a mile, accompanied by Green Linnet over the early stages, the first half occupying 51-Jsec, six furlongs lmin 17isec, and the full distance lmin 44 sec. Orazone and Banbridge worked a round at half pace, coming home two furlongs, smartly. ' Bbnogne galloped six furlongs, doing the last, five in lmin 6§sec. G. Jackson's pair, Garrick and Paparua, galloped half a mile attractively in 50see, finishing together. Anbridge was not all out to run the last six- furlongs of a round in lmin 21sec.. Kissless' and Gowan Lea had a rattling set-to over five furlongs, the first three taking 37sec, and they finished up on even terms in lmin 3see. The three Nolan Cup nominees, Gasnapper, Joyspear, and Biflex, made a straggling start from the seven furlongs, and were timed from the six furlongs. Gasnapper finished in front of Joyspear, with Biflex lengths back, in lmin 18sec. . ■ ■ The Bisogne mare Compulsory and the two-year-old Attentive .went smartly over four furlongs in BOJsec, with the youngster in front at the finish. Paitoim went seven fnrlongs alone in lmin 31see, a good effort. Double Bed and The Warden, were associated over five furlongs, the former finishing in front in lmin 3 4-ssec. The two-year-olds, Eipple Song, Glad Star, and Peter Jackson, scampered over three furlongs together in 374 sec. . Bon Eve beat Miss Sheff over five furlongs in lmin 4Jsec. On the outside of the course proper, a Shillirigee two-year-old, and Summertime galloped half a mile in 54 l-ssec, with the latter a length in front at the finish. ■ Calainine and Tentcall were, together at the end of six furlongs in lmin 18 see. ' : Eichfield and Proud Moor sprinted half a mile in 51sec. ■ • The hurdler Royal Acre galloped a mile in lmin 47$ sec. Callapat ran five furlongs in lmin 3Jsee.
