AMERICA'S UNEMPLOYED
CONVICTION CONFIRMED

WASHINGTON, 25th January
Chairman Woods, of the Presidential Unemployment Committee, announced that compilations on the basis of life insurance statistics indicate that there were 4,500,000 to 5,000,000 unemployed in United States in the first week of December, being 10 per cent, of those "gainfully employed. Taken as a whole this confirms the conviction concerning^- the existence of serious unemployment,'' the report states.
