COUNTY WAGES REDUCED
(By telegraph.—Press Association.) TE ABOHA, 15th Dec. The Piako County Council, which has already reduced its staff and administrative costs- well below the level of. neighbouring counties, decided on further economies to-day, when wages and salaries' were reduced all round. The wages of casual workers were .reduced from 14s b'd to 14s, the foreman and others getting 17s 3d per day to 16b, and the engineering and clerical staff, reduced 10. per cent. -~. .'■ The chairman" will forego liis liouoirariunr and the councillors their travel-ling-expenses for three months.
