DISPUTE WITH CREW

TAUPATA HELD IT

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "Tho Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The intended trip to Norfolk Island by the new motor vessel Taupato, has been cancelled owing to troublo with the crew. . Tho Taupata was built at Freeman's Bay, Auckland, and when she was comjilctcd last week sho was sold to the Anchor Shipping - and Foundry Company, Wellington. Sho was to have been taken over by tho new owners when she returned from Norfolk Island on Thursday. Members of tho crew signed on the vessel and commenced duties yesterday morning. After working for four hours, five of tho seamen informed tho captain that they wished to be paid off, but no reason was given. Afterwards it was announced that owing to the men's action the trip had been abandoned, and the cargo was unloaded. The dispute on the Taupata is in connection with the manning scale.
