The Orvieto was compelled to anchor off Thames Haven early yesterday owing to fog, and is still anchored after thirty hours. It is likely that she will be held up for at least another day longer. Thames shipping has been stopped for forty hours, and passenger and cargo steamers are unable to proceed up tho river. They are clustered in anchored groups at the mouth of the Thames ■bleating their syrens and ringing bells. The cross-Channel steamer Flamand "Short of water. Please [send some promptly." A waterboat 'was unable to find her.
