AIR MAIL SERVICE
(To the Editor.) Sir, —We have read in your paper about the great saving of time when the airmail service started, and how correspondence could be sent and answered in a short time. Now, Sir, if you will allow me space in your valuable paper, I will explain how wo received- favo letters this week from England. The first was posted 28th October and sent by steamer route, and arrived here Ist December. The second was posted on 29th October and sent by air-mail, costing ll^d, and arrived here on 2nd December, taking the same time as steamer route. Can you tell me why a person has to pay all this extra cost and not gain any saving of time?—l am, etc., AXXIOUS MIRAMAR. [This letter was referred to the Postal Department, and the reply was received that it would be necessary to see the two envelopes and obtain further particulars before any explanation could be offered.]
