The Taumarunui Kacing Club's Meeting opened in fine weather, and the course was in fair order, but the attendance was poor. The totalisator handled £6333, compared with £10,----247 on the first day last year. Results: — Manunui Hack Hurdles Handicap, of SO soys; about one mile and a half. —1 Sea Cob, 9.11 (F. roster), 1; S Lupin Abbey, 9.8, 2; 2 Marble King, 9.5, 3. Also started: 4 Archieval 9.0. Won by a length and a half. Archieval fell. Marble King lost his rider, was remounted by R. Syme, and finished third, a length and a half away. Time, 3min. Trial Plate, of 80 sots ; six furlongs.—l Gold Day, 8.7 (K. Gill), 1; 5 Wee Prince, 8.7, 2; 4 Gallant Jack, 8.7, 3.
