A "Gazette" announcement last " eight gives news of the appointment of Mr. John W. Dye as Consul in Wellington for the United States. Mr. Dyro has served many years in the United States Consular service, and prior to his new appointment was stationed at Montreal. His first post was at Berlin, where he was appointed Depv rf;y-Con-sul-General (an office now aboiif jfned) in 1906, and later appointments h: tva been at Genoa, Smyrna, Alaska, Ciq >c Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth,1 Crudad Juarez (Mexico), and Montr>eoJ(.
