FAIR WEATHER PREVAILS Pressure remains high to the west of the Dominion and low to the east of the South Island. There has consequently been a continuation of wind from some, westerly quarter, westerlies or south-westerlies of moderate force predominating. Gale force, however, has been reached at times about Foveaux Strait, and Kugget Point at 0 a.m. to-day reported a strong westerly gale. Fair to fine weather has been the general rule, but a few isolated showers have fallen, chiefly in far northern, far southern, and West Coast districts. Auckland had fair to cloudy weather yesterday, with a south-west breeze. In Wellington it w&s a bit cloudy in the morning, but fine later, the wind being a light northerly. Christcluirch had a flue day with a change of wind from south-west to north-east. Two degrees of frost were recorded there last night. After several days of unsettled weather, Dunedin yesterday enjoyed a fine day. » . The indications are still for moderate to strong westerly to south-wester-ly winds and fair weather generally. In far southern districts, however, the wind is at times likely to be stronger and to reach gale, force, and scattered showers are likely in western districts. Temperatures will be moderate.
