Offenders against the bylaws were dealt with at the' Magistrate's Court yesterday by "Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M. \ A fine of 10s was inflicted on Nigal Jamed for having defective lights on a vehicle. ■ John E. Miles was fined £5 for failing to comply with a cleansing order. For having a. defective warning device on his car Alan M'Carthy was fined- 10s. Overloading a motor-lorry cost Ralph Scholes £2. On a charge of having defective brakes on a motor-lorry he was fined £]. ' Charles 11. Johnson was fined £1 for cutting a corner. Walter W. Brackenridge was fined 10s for not having a driver's licence. A fine of 10s was inflicted on Roy Brown for obstructing traffic. Parking a motor-vehicle less than, 15ft from a building line cost Sydney Craven IDs Thomas A. Doney was lined £3 for employing an unregistered plumber for sanitary work. For doing sanitary work not, being registered plumbers Henry G. Hutchinson and Thomas A. Doney were fined £3 and; £2 respectively. John E. Miles was fined. £ I for a similar offence. The Stom Carrying Co., Ltd., were convicted and ordered to pay costs on aj charge of having no heavy traffic licence. A sjm.ili}r "charge against Daisy Bpwden was' dismissed on payment of costs.
