INTEREST IN CANADA

■NEW ZEALAND TRAINEE WANTED

",AVe lire desirous of improving our game of Rugby, and would like to know where we might secure an • instructor and trainer," stated the secretary of Hie Canadian Legion Guards A.A.C., sponsors of the Memorial Field, Grace Bay, Nova Scotia, in a letter received by the committee of the New Zealand Eugby Union last night. "We would dearly love to take this crowd of huskies over to England, and do even half as well, as your team, of 1924-25," the letter continued. "We wrote to Wales early this year, and the man the Cardiff Club ■.recommended was taken out by us,.and, believe me, ho was one sweet 'dud.' We don't want any repetition, and we have • faith in New Zealand. I fully realise that under tho English code one is not permitted to have a paid coach in tho club, but then one may have a man paid as a trainer and conditioner who could also coach in team play, scrum formation, etc." The committee decided that it would not be possible to recommend anyone for the position, but instructed the secretary, Mr. A. E. Neilson, to forward the Canadian club literature dealing with the sport in New Zealand.
