M'Xeil, S.M.. dealt ■ with cases in the Magistrate's Court at Lower Hiitt yesterday. ■ John Laurie was fined 10s ior driving a | car without a licence. -_ A fine of £1 lVas imposed upon .Robert Hogg, who was fourid upon licensed' premises after hours., > On the ground of persistent cruelty aa order for separation was made against William Nathaniel Lester, in favour ot Dorothy Mary Lester. She was given custody of the two children and maintenance orders were made against the husband for 30s a week for the wife and 15s a week for each of the two children. For disobedience of a maintenance order in respect of kjs wife H. Keeling was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended while he ''pays 21s a week, being the amount of the order and Is a week off arrears. For disobedience of an order for his children's maintenance he was also sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended while he pays 31s a week, being the amount of the order and Is a week off arrears. Arnold £11 7s at the rate of 10s a moiith, in default U flays' imprisonment; Eric Hogg to pay F. N. K. Meadows £43 lls at the rate of £3 los a month, in default 30 days' imprisonment. • In the defended civil ease of Petone Service Station. Ltd. (Mr. X F. Kothwull) y.
