WEDDINGS
Of interest to many Wellington people was , the wedding celebrated in Hong Kong 'recently of Hazel Marjorie, younger daughter of .Mr, and Mrs. A. A. Soinerville,; Bidwell street, Wellington, and the Eev. L. Neville AVatkins, assistant chaplain of St. John's Cathedral, Hong Kong, and younger son of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Watkins, Dufferin street,. Wellington. The bride, who was escorted by Professor L. Forstciy of Hong Kong University, wore a frockof parchment, satin,, with bodice, long, sleeves, and hip yoke of guipure lace, her.veil of Brussels.iietbeing worn cap fashion, and forming the train. She carried a sheaf Of pale pink gladioli. Miss Pat' Hyncs was bridesmaid,, and two little girls,. June ancL Maureen Brooker, were flower girls. The bridesmaid wore a frock of pinlf georgette over satin, and a silver hairband, her bouquet being of pink cosmos and Honolulu creeper. The .flower girls were dressed in long frocks of pale green georgette with silver hairijands, ■ and they carried silver.. baskets of pink' roses. Mr. W. Bailey-Whishaw, also a New. Zealandeiy was best man. The service, which was fully choral, with the cathedral choir in attendance, was conducted by the .Very Eev. the-Dean of Hong Koiig, assisted, by the Rev. H. V. Koop. After- the service, tho bridal party adjourned to the cathedral hall, where the many guests were received by Mrs. Swarm, wife "of the dean, and Mrs. Stuart Williamson. Mr. and Mrs. Watkins later left by the Empress of Canada for Baguio, Philippine Islands. Mrs. Watkins's travelling dress was rose and blue, with rose coat and hat to match.. '■'..... |
