MATAI RETURNING.

The Government lighthouse steamer Matai is expected to return to .Wellington to-morrow after her first trip to the northern lights. She is to leave early next week to attend to the Cook Strait lights.

The Vacuum Oil Company advises that the tanker Vacuollne is expected to arrive at Wellington on Ist January with a cargo of petrol fnom Si.:i Francisco.

RARANGA REPORTS.

The Raranga, en route from Liverpool, reports by radio that she expects to arrive at Auckland on Saturday afternoon. She should bo at Wellington on 13th December.
