OBITUARY
EEV. FATHER-G. MAHONY
The death occurred yesterday, after a short illness, of the Key.' Father George Mahony, of St. Mary of the Angels' Church, Boulcott street, aged 61. The late Father G. Mahoney, who was a brother of the Eev. Father S. Mahony, of St. Mary's, was born in London in 1869, and came to New Zealand with his parents in 1874. He was educated at the Marist Brothers' School and at St. Patrick's College, Wellington. While at college he commenced his studies for the priesthood, which studies he continued at the college at Meanco, Hawkes Bay. He was ordained in Wellington in 1898 by his Grace Archbishop Redwood, and was appointed to Nelson. Subsequently, he was transferred to Hastings, where ho was stationed for many years. Thca.ce he was transferred to Wanganui. Father Mahony came to Wellington about three years ago. and has since resided with his brother at the Presbytery, Boulcott street. '- There will be a Requiem Mass for the late Father Mahony on Friday morning at 0 o'clock at St. Mary of tho Angels, prior to the funeral.
