BOXING
MIRAMAR CLUB The enthusiasm of the members of the Miramar Boxing Club in staging another amateur tournament (the fourth this year) was well rewarded last night, when the Capitol Tiheatre held a large audience.' A programme of twelve bouts had been arranged, the club going to some expense to bring a team from the Wairarapa in order to add interest to the proceedings. The boxing generally was of a very entertaining order, with plenty to excite, and, as is usual in amateur tourneys, something to amuse. During the evening exhibitions were given by Tommy Fairhall, who is to meet Ted Morgan in the Town Hall on Tuesday next, and Lew Edwards, the youthful Australian featherweight. Fairhall sparred three rounds with the well-known perform-" er Jack Crowley, and showed that he is in great shape for his engagement, while Edwards delighted with his fast, clever work in the course of four rounds with Stan Donoghue and H. Allott. The following are the results of the bouts decided:— : Les. Broomfield (sst 101b) beat S. Troy (6st 21b); Stan Donoghue (Bst) beat H. Allott (7st 101b); W. Higgs (7st 121b) beat S. Broomfield (Bst 41b); G. Miller (9st 61b) beat E. Edwards (9st 61b); G. Marshall (Bst 81b) beat E. Carrig (Bst 41b); C. Knopp (Bst 121b) beat W. Moulton (Bst |I31b); Frank Keith (Bst 121b) beat T.
