Asked at a meeting of the Wangaiiui Head Centre of. the Royal Life-saving Society as to how* he tested a Kfe-line (says an exchange), Mr. J. Manley said, that the rope was used for a tug-of-war. If it broke it was no good. If it stood the strain, it was deemed suitable for life-saving purposes. (Laughter.)
