MATCH AT BASIN" RESERVE

In the special match played at-the Basin Reserve yesterday between teams selected by C. S. Dempster (official coach) and E. C. Wiren; some'of the promising colts performed to good advantage, Ell (a Technical College boy) carrying his bat for 43. and Ashenden and Crook showing up well iv the bowling department. Dempster's team made 200 for the loss of seveu wickets and then declared, after which , Wiren's te'ani was dismissed for 133. Iv addition .to the colts mentioned, there were others who created a favourable impression, while of tho more .experienced players Dempster on one side and Ho.llings on the other did best with the bat, and Bhmdell -with, the ball.
