AMATEUR ATHLETICS

The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met last night. Mr. A. Urqualiart presided. In connection with the proposed visit of F. J. Grose to Australia, the Canterbury centre wrote stating that the visit would have its entire approval, and it would be prepared to assist financially. It desired, however, further details as t" finance. The New Zealand Cycling Board of Control, in a letter, stated that it would be pleased to sec Grose make the visit, but the Athletic Association would have to negotiate with the amateur body in Australia in connection with it. It was decided to refer the letter back to the cycling board.
