ORDER AGAINST JOCKEY

BUSINESS VENTURE FAILS

"A" well-known Auckland jockey, Benjamin Kinsman Deeloy, was respondent in an application for purmuiicut alimonj' before Mr. Justice Smith in the Supreme Court to-day. The petitioner w;is Doris Madge Elizabeth Decley (Mr. Sullivan). Mr. Xorthcroft appeared for respondent. j Deelcy "was .cross-examined by Mr. Sullivan about money ho had in the bank. This, he said, amounted to about £2000, but lie might also have "a few pounds" in his current account. A week ago he iilcd an affidavit that the amount was £2400. Last year his bank account stood at £3500, but ho had) since made investments in a company with £1500 capital, of which he held £1499. That company had absorbed about £ISOO of his income in the past twelve months. Until eight or nine months ago, Decley said, he was paying his wife £5 a week for the support, of herself and the two children, aged eight and nine years. \ /Cross-examined about n offence of beiiig'drunk in charge of a motor-cur, Deeleysaid ho had pleaded domestic trouble.
